Match making, or astrological compatibility, is based on an analysis of the Moon sign, and MoonAstro offers it to you free of charge. Any relationship between two people can be understood through compatibility astrology, which helps them understand – and improve – the bond between two different birth charts. The most common types of compatibility are discussed here, each with its own dedicated report.
Compatibility astrology offers more than a general overview: it provides an in-depth study of marital compatibility. It is one of the most widely used branches of Indian astrology, yet many people do not appreciate all the factors involved. From your birth details, it can describe your relationships with many different people in your life.
Indian astrology can describe the relationship between any two people from their birth charts and, where needed, suggest remedies. For a couple, it examines the 7th house, the Moon sign, the birth star and the positions of Jupiter, Mars and Venus in both horoscopes. It can suggest auspicious dates for marriage and indicate whether two people are suited to marry, expressed as a score out of 36 – a score below 18 is not recommended. Indian astrology also judges friendship through Moon-sign compatibility, and the horoscope gives a clear picture of a person’s relationship with their siblings. Another important area is the relationship with one’s parents: the bond with the father is judged from the 5th or 7th house of the father’s chart together with the 10th house of the child’s chart – a detailed calculation that can be done precisely – and the bond with the mother is judged in a similar way.
Match making exists to help ensure a harmonious, successful and well-balanced married life, and it is one reason traditional Indian marriages tended to last. In recent times, however, more marriages have run into difficulty. Love marriages are partly responsible, as Guna Milan and compatibility checks are often skipped, though interest in match making has grown again in recent years. Clashes of ego and a lack of understanding are common causes of trouble, which is why match making matters for love marriages as much as for arranged ones.
Match making is often reduced to Guna Milan and Manglik Dosha. Manglik Dosha, which can affect married life, occurs when Mars is placed in the 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th or 12th house. Since Mars can fall in five of the twelve houses, roughly 40% of people are considered Manglik. The dosha may bring a delayed marriage, friction between partners or differences in outlook, and in severe cases separation or the loss of a spouse – but not every Manglik person experiences these effects, and the results vary greatly from chart to chart. It is best to consult an experienced astrologer rather than draw conclusions on your own.
